How Do Students Activate Their USC Accounts?
To get their USC/Blackboard username and password, students must first activate their USC account. This is performed from the following web address: www.usc.edu/firstlogin
What If I Forget My Blackboard / USC Password?
Students should call ISD at (213) 740-5555. Faculty members should call the Marshall User Support Help Desk at (213) 740-3000. In both cases, the password will be reset to your Social Security Number or Student ID Number. Once you have called, it typically takes about 1 hour for the reset to take effect in the system. You will then want to change your password to something more secure. You can do this at: www.usc.edu/isd/password
How Do I Change My USC / Blackboard Password?
You can change your USC / Blackboard password at any time using the following web address: http://www.usc.edu/isd/password

What If One of My Students Drops My Course?
Enrollment records held by the Register's Office dictate student access to a specific Blackboard course. If a student drops your course during the first three weeks of the semester, their access to your class will be denied and they will be removed from your class roster automatically.
If a student drops your course after the first three weeks (receiving a "w"), their access to your will be denied and they will be removed from your class e-mail list; however, they will remain on your roster. Should you wish to remove them completely, you can do so yourself from within Blackboard by going to: Control Panel --> Users and Groups --> Users. You will need to do a search for the user and then click the "Remove Users From Course" button.

"Groups" allow you to create separate discussion boards, e-mail lists, virtual classrooms, and file drop offs.
