Remote Desktop - Accessing your On-Campus Computer from Home
For those of you who wished that you had access to the same software applications or files on your home computer that you do on-campus or would just like an easier way to work from home, Remote Desktop may be your new best friend. With a few simple steps, Remote Desktop allows you to use applications on your office PC from home as well as access files on its hard drive or on the Marshall network (e.g. ?N?, ?O? or ?P? drives). It does this by creating a window into your work PC allowing you to control it remotely. While running Remote Desktop, you can use your home keyboard and Mouse to affect your work computer while viewing the results in a special window. Further, you do not need to download any special software, Remote Desktop comes with Windows XP! For instructions on how to setup and use Remote Desktop, please follow this link.

Marshall Public CalendarDid you know that Marshall has a public calendar system that can be used to keep track of events across the school? It is a great place to find interesting events to attend and can also be useful when scheduling events by browsing for any potential scheduling conflicts. To view a calendar, login to MyMarshall (http://mymarshall.usc.edu), look under the "Community" tab and click on any available calendar (such as "Faculty Calendar" or ?Graduate Calendar?) to see events scheduled for those groups. If you are interested in having your department use the Marshall Public Calendar, please place a request through the Help Desk at helpdesk@marshall.usc.edu.
