Because our system does NOT allow you to set up an account, you must complete the application process in a single sitting.

The application consists of four pages. On the first page, you should ensure you've selected the proper position, and designate the rank(s) (Assistant, Associate, and/or Full professor) for your application (you may select multiple ranks if appropriate). The second page contains fields for your contact information. Fields marked with an asterisk are required. Take your time and check your entries - - there is no spell checker or field validation, so check your spelling and accuracy thoroughly!! The third page is OPTIONAL EEOC data collection. All of the data you typed on the second page is displayed at the top of page 3. CHECK YOUR ADDRESS INFO NOW, and go back to page 2 if you need to correct any errors! All EEOC questions on page 3 are optional. You can choose whether or not to leave page 3 blank.

Page four is where you'll upload your application materials and provide names and email addresses for your letters of reference. There are upload fields for "Cover Letter", "CV", "Curriculum", and "Other". Each field permits ONE attachment only. PDF files are strongly preferred; maximum 5MB per pdf. Incomplete applications will NOT be considered.
 - "COVER LETTER" and "CV" are self-explanatory.
 - Tenure track positions: Upload your Job Market Paper to "CURRICULUM".
 - Non-tenure track positions: Upload your Teaching Evaluations to "CURRICULUM".
 - If desired, use "OTHER" to upload one combined PDF file containing optional documents.

We require a minimum of three and a maximum of five names and email addresses for reference letters. An email requesting upload of your reference letter will be sent automatically to each of your references upon final submission of your application. The reference request email will be sent from the email address: "FAShelp@provost.usc.edu". Note: Unique email addresses are NOT required. If an administrator will be submitting your recommendation letters, please enter the FACULTY MEMBER's name into the first and last name fields, and use the administrator's email address for as many of the recommendation letters as is appropriate. If you want to be notified when recommendation letters are uploaded, CHECK THE BOX requesting notification of reference letter uploads BEFORE you click on the SUBMIT button!! (If your letter writers don't appear to receive a request to upload your letter, please have them check their JUNKMAIL, SPAM, and TRASH folders.  The upload invitation email might have been incorrectly identified as spam or a phishing message!)

WARNING! When you click the SUBMIT button, your application is submitted to USC. There is NO secondary submission confirmation window to allow you to back out, make changes, and submit again. Be sure all of your data is correct and complete (especially the email addresses and uploaded documents) BEFORE you click on the Submit button.

AFTER SUBMISSION

After submitting your application, you will NOT be able to go back on-line to make corrections or upload additional documents to your application packet. If you need to correct, update, replace, or add to your application packet after it has been submitted, please email additional information or documents to fbe@marshall.usc.edu with a subject line of "Application Update for Firstname Lastname", and specify in the body of your email message whether you applied for a tenure-track position & the area(s) to which you applied or non-tenure track position, and a detailed explanation regarding what in your packet should be changed.

Candidates will automatically receive an email confirmation of receipt of their application packet immediately following submission of their materials. This acknowledgement email will be sent from the email address: "FAShelp@provost.usc.edu". If you do not receive this email, check your JUNKMAIL, SPAM, and TRASH folders. If you truly did not receive a submission acknowledgment email, please email fbe@marshall.usc.edu with details regarding to which position(s) you tried to apply, and the Faculty Recruiting coordinator will verify whether or not your submission was successful.
