John E. Juricek, Associate University Librarian, has been the Head of the Crocker Business Library and the Accounting Library at the University of Southern California since 2008. John leads a team of information professionals who seek to ensure that all USC students, faculty, staff and alumni make full and efficient use of information resources from books and journals to databases and public web sites.
 
John graduated with his Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from UCLA and also holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs from Columbia University. He studied as a Fulbright Scholar in Germany and did his undergraduate work in History and Philosophy at Doane College in his home town of Crete, Nebraska.
 
John is professionally active in Academic Business Library Directors (ABLD), the American Library Association (ALA), Reference and User Services Association (RUSA), Business Reference and Services Section (BRASS), and the Statewide California Electronic Library Consortium (SCELC) Business Resources Product Review Committee.  He has published numerous articles, reviews and web guides including studies of academic web sites and grey literature in business.
 
Prior to becoming a librarian, John had a career as an international tax manager and was an expert in the taxation of Americans working abroad and foreign nationals working and studying in the US. He worked for Price Waterhouse and the Institute of International Education in New York and Arthur Andersen and Deloitte in Los Angeles for a wide variety of clients. John has been at USC since 2005.
