2011 Faculty Job Announcement
- We are pleased to announce that Professor of Clinical Marketing Diane Badame has been invited to serve on the MBA Roundtable Board of Directors. The Board is comprised of the leadership from the top-ranked full-time MBA Programs, and it is terrific to have someone from Marshall represent the school within this influential and informed group. Diane has previously served on the Roundtable Board. Please join me in congratulating Diane on this prestigious appointment. (2011).
- The department is happy to announce that Professor Gary Frazier has been named editor-designate of the Journal of Marketing. Frazier's three-year term begins July 1, 2011. AMA VP of Publications Richard Lutz commented on Frazier’s appointment, “The committee was very impressed with Dr. Frazier’s proposal. He is a highly respected scholar and a long-time contributor to the marketing discipline with considerable editorial experience under his belt already. I am confident that the Journal of Marketing will continue to move marketing scholarship forward under Gary’s leadership.
- Assistant Professor, Lisa Cavanaugh has received the Steven B. Sample 2010 Teaching and Mentoring Award (awarded by the USC Parents Association.)
- Great news for Assistant Professor Lan Luo, who has been invited to participate in the Marketing Science Institute’s (MSI) 2011 Young Scholar Program. The MSI Young Scholar Program is a biennial event that brings together the most promising young scholars in marketing and closely related fields, whose work to date demonstrates that they are the likely leaders of the next generation of marketing scholars.
- More good news. Associate Professor, Kristin Diehl is a co-recipient of the 2010 inaugural Association for Consumer Research Early Career Award. This is a brand new award that will be presented annually to honor the contributions of one or more consumer behavior researchers who received a Ph.D. less than 8 years ago. Congratulations to Kristin on being the first winner of this very prestigious award.
- Warm congratulations to Professor Gerard Tellis who has received the American Marketing Association Global Marketing SIG's 2010 Excellence in Global Marketing Research Award for his 2008 Marketing Science article (co-authored with his former Ph.D. student Deepa Chandrasekaran), “The Global Takeoff of New Products: Culture, Wealth or Vanishing Differences.” This prestigious award recognizes the author(s) of an outstanding article, published within the last 10 years, which has significantly influenced the direction of global marketing practice.
- Ph.D. student Linli Xu is already making an impact in the marketing field. The Marshall Ph.D. Program has awarded Linli the 2010 James S. Ford/Commerce Associates Ph.D. Fellowship in recognition of her outstanding scholastic achievement and research.
- We are happy to report that Professor Gary Frazier is a co-winner of the 2010 AMA IOSIG Lifetime achievement award for the impact his distribution channels research has had over the past 25 years. The award is presented at the Summer AMA Conference in August.
- Assistant Professor Lan Luo is a 2010 winner of the Dean's Award for Research Excellence.
- Congratulations to Professor Debbie MacInnis who was recognized with a Golden Apple Teaching Award for 2010. The recipients are chosen by the undergraduate students for their excellence in teaching.
- Congratulations to Professor S. Siddarth who is honored with a Golden Apple Teaching Award for 2010 for excellence in teaching a graduate elective course. Recipients of the Golden Apple Award are chosen by the graduate students.
- Professor Diane Badame received a 2010 Golden Apple Teaching Award for outstanding teaching in the MBA core.
- The USC Marshall School of Business Center for Global Innovation, led by Professor Gerard Tellis, has received a major gift in the amount of $1 million from Don Murray of Resources Global Professionals to continue and foster the research and growth of the Center. read more
- Professor Lan Luo won the John D.C. Little Award for the Best Paper published in Marketing Science, Management Science in the year 2007 for her article titled, "New Product Development Under Channel Acceptance" (with P.K. Kannan and Brian Ratchford).
- Professor CW Park is the editor of the Journal of Consumer Psychology.
- Professor Debbie MacInnis is the Associate Editor of the Journal of Consumer Research.
