Letters From Around the World, 2009
Nearly 80 percent of the freshman class at the USC Marshall School of Business will spend one week during their spring semester at one of seven international locations, learning in a very direct way how globalization is affecting the ways business is done around the world, and what it means for their own education and future career.

We asked a number of these freshmen to write about their experiences getting ready for and then jetting to China or Chile or Ireland or Taiwan as part of either our Global Leadership Program (GLP) or Learning About International Commerce Programs (LINC). GLP and LINC aren't the only chances students have to go overseas either. Another 35 juniors and seniors are headed to Dubai as part of the International Experiential Corporate Environment Learning Program (ExCEL) this Spring Break. And this year, for the first time, the USC Marshall chapter of the national non-profit Global Business Brigades, will be sending 16 sophomores and juniors to Panama to assist a co-op of honeybee farmers establish more sustainable business models.
For students interested in understanding the global business environment, USC Marshall also offers semester-long study-abroad programs, international internships and many other opportunities. And every one of USC Marshall’s 1,700 MBA students is required to have an international experience as part of securing their degree. |
