Society and Business Research Award

USC Marshall School of Business is pleased to announce that the recipient of the 2011 Society & Business Research Award is Leigh Anne Novak Donovan. The faculty were impressed with Leigh Anne’s many working papers as well as the close tie of her proposed research to the work of the Society and Business Lab.

Provided by the Marshall's Society and Business Lab, the annual Society and Business Research Award is intended to encourage dissertation research that incorporates elements of business with a social or environmental impact component.

Leigh Anne’s research seeks to understand consumers reactions following brand transgressions. With this award, the research can be expanded to explore how consumers react to firms who have committed ethical violations, as well as how brand self-connections develop with companies that benefit society and whether or not consumers would be more forgiving of these companies following transgressions (or more unforgiving if they go against their societal ideals).

Please join us in congratulating Leigh Anne!
